Commissioned by the chief of staff of the Harvard Medical School, the Green Dragon Pub logo needed to be reminiscent of the original Green Dragon Tavern sign, but more contemporary and recognizable as a school event. This required the integration of the crimson Harvard shield.

To give the dragon more personality, I had the dragon hold the spear instead of laying on it, to give it a more dynamic pose. I retained the curling tail and unique wing structure to maintain a few recognizable features for those in the know, but gave it a decidedly more mischievous expression. Perhaps the dragon is about to clock out from it’s day job and head inside the tavern for a stiff drink.
